Emergency rescue teams from Sofia have joined the search of people, missing after strong storms and floods caused by rains in the region of Skopje and the western part of Macedonia, head of "Fire Safety and Civil Protection" Nikolay Nikolov, told the Bulgarian National Radio. There are at least 10 people missing. It is assumed that some of these people are in their cars buried under mud, while others were dragged down rivers. Weak building control is among the reasons for the tragedy that killed at least 21 people. Some of the victims were residents of illegal buildings constructed near the bed of the Vardar River, Nikolov added.
