Participants have pointed out that tourism is among the most important revenue generators in the region. The head of the Bulgarian delegation at the Assembly, Petar Kanev, said that tourism accounts for over 12 per cent of Bulgaria’s GDP, but it is also of key importance to the countries of the entire Black Sea region. Mr. Kanev pointed out that in 2016 the Black Sea countries were visited by more than 100 million people from the EU.
