The Bulgarian Food Safety Agency has identified two primary outbreaks of avian influenza in farms located in the villages of Garvanovo and Malevo, Haskovo district.
In order to eradicate the disease, destruction of all birds kept in the affected sites, as well as cleansing and disinfection of poultry farms has started. 3-km safety zones and 10-kilometer surveillance zones around the outbreaks were determined. There is an epizootic study of the causes of the disease going on, it was reported.
