8 percent think the Earth is flat, and 11 percent cannot say. Data indicate that one quarter of Bulgarians do not believe man has ever set foot on the Moon. 15 percent believe vaccines are harmful, and 27 percent cannot say whether vaccines do more good than harm.
The results are comparable to data from similar surveys conducted in USA and Europe. Analysts say that online publications play a big role in spreading ignorance.
