Covid-19 is not as dangerous for students as it is for those in contact with them

It is expected that gathering of people in schools will lead to the spread of the virus to a larger number of people. The big fear is that it may not be so dangerous for the children as it is for those in contact with them, immunologist Assoc. Prof. Velizar Shivarov hastold BNT. Nevertheless, society should try to return to "a normal environment of communication and education," the expert says.

After the opening of schools, the epidemic will develop in the same way as in society. In the beginning there will be a higher frequency of cases, but infection among children is almost asymptomatic. There should be no panic, the vice-president of the Bulgarian Medical Union, Dr. Nikolay Branzalov, told bTV. He said he did not expect a second peak and wave of the pandemic in autumn and winter.
