Setting up a congressional department for seminar tourism, improving the website visitsofia.bg, renovating urban spaces and making the environment more accessible, joint projects with the Ministry of Culture and the Ministry of Education, with the Bulgarian Orthodox church and other institutions, more tourist-targeted events – these are the principal priorities set down in Sofia Municipality’s programme for the development of Sofia as a tourist destination in 2021, which is to be voted at today’s session of the Sofia city council.

Other items on the programme include promotional videos as well as Sofia’s more active participation in travel fairs in this country and abroad with the aim of making Bulgaria’s capital city more popular with tour operators.
