Citizens protest against a migrant center in Sofia

An evening protest march against illegal migrants lasted two hours and took place in the capital's Ovcha Kupel residential district. Hundreds of people, organized on social networks, gathered to express their dissatisfaction under the slogan "Ovcha Kupel without fear and violence". The police presence in the area was extremely strong.

Those present were adamant that there are incidents involving migrants almost daily in the neighborhood.

The protesting citizens made four demands: that the refugee center be moved, that there be a constant police presence in the area, that the evening hours be observed at the migrant center, and that a comprehensive video surveillance system be built.

"They are walking around and bother children, women. There should be some kind of control over them," a participant in the protest told BNR.
