The Netherlands remains the leading destination for education of Bulgarians abroad

The number of Bulgarian young people wishing to study higher education abroad has increased by 60% compared to 2023, data from the World Education exhibition show, BNR Stara Zagora reported. 

The Netherlands continues to be in the leading destination for Bulgarian prospective university students - it is chosen by 59% of applicants for higher education abroad. Interest in Great Britain remains strong. Interest in Ireland and Sweden is also increasing. 

The most preferred majors are business, psychology, computer science and engineering majors.

Traditionally, about 10% of Bulgarian high school graduates go to study abroad.

Interest in language holidays abroad is also returning. Favorite countries in this regard are Singapore, USA, Great Britain, Germany, France and Switzerland.
