Bulgarian President Rossen Plevneliev has announced at a briefing in the Presidency that for personal reasons he will not take part in the coming presidential elections. “Don’t expect me to be launching a new political party or to participate in any of them. Once president, always president”, said the Head of State, adding however, that he is not stepping out of politics. In his words, with his refusal to run for another presidential mandate and his announcing his decision five months before the elections, he is being honest and straightforward, avoiding endless speculations on the subject. President Plevneliev advised politicians to avoid in the coming months speculating on the presidential elections and to give more attention to support the reform in the judiciary, to make way for strong anti-corruption legislature and to keep Bulgaria on the track of European development – the direction he has keenly been abiding by.
