I return to Bulgaria to recover the other half of my heart, which remained here when my family left our country. I was 7 then, the famous singer said at a press conference in the BNR. Sylvie Vartan is in Sofia for her third concert due on April 24, at the big hall of the National Palace of Culture. The concert features her latest album “Sylvie at Nashville”. After a period when my concerts were rather recitals, I decided to return to something livelier and more rhythmic, like country and rock music, Mrs. Vartan explained. She called shattering her first return to her country in 1990. Then she saw again her grandfather’s house, which was untouched. But the country she saw then was “bled” and that’s what drove her to create her foundation “Sylvie Vartan for Bulgaria”, which regularly donates equipment for the treatment of prematurely born babies in many Bulgarian hospitals. Upon her arrival she was able to see two Bulgarian icons restored with the sponsorship of the foundation. These icons are to enter the exposition of the future Museum of Sofia. I am eager to see it open, said the icon of world Ye-ye music, which 50 years ago she had the chance to sing together with the other idols of the time – the Beatles. Later today, in the building of Alliance Française in Sofia Sylvie Vartan will present her second book published in Bulgarian under the title “Word by word”.
