26–year-old Bulgarian snowboarder Radoslav Yankov reached the quarterfinals and placed sixth in the last snowboard parallel slalom for the season, which took place in the German winter resort of Winterberg on Sunday, thus winning the World Cup in the men’s parallel slalom. Throughout the season Yankov won a total of 4050 points, which was enough for him to grab the cup after two gold and one silver medals out of a total of 7 races in the discipline.
This is a historic achievement for Bulgaria, with Yankov becoming the first Bulgarian to win a world cup in winter sports.
