Bulgaria’s Finance Ministry has announced that the country has taken out an external debt worth close to 2 billion euro on the international markets, selling 7-year bonds worth 1.144 billion euro and 12-year bonds worth 850 million.
This is the biggest deal in euro for the region of Central and Eastern Europe, the Middle East and Africa for this year. The finance ministry says that the deal has achieved a high level of profitability. The new debt will be used mostly to refinance old debts and cover budget deficits.
