Bulgarian haulers demand from Greece to guarantee free movement through its state borders

In the presence of Bulgaria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Daniel Mitov and Bulgaria’s Minister of Transport Ivaylo Moscovski the Chairman of the Bulgarian Association of Road Transport Unions handed the Ambassador of Greece to Bulgaria a declaration which calls on the Greek cabinet to undertake measures against illegal protests on that country’s borders. The Bulgarian Ministers insisted that the Greek authorities should prevent possible escalation of illegal protests through border blockades. The blockade of state borders is an intolerable act, because Bulgaria and Greece are good neighbors and partners, the Ministers further noted. Greece’s Ambassador to Sofia said that the Greek government was aware of the seriousness of the problem, which occurs periodically at the Bulgaria-Greece border and regretted that his measures did not yield positive results. Both sides agreed to continue their good bilateral cooperation.
