The Bulgarian Red Cross will mark the International Day of Red Cross and Red Crescent with an event in Sofia’s South Park, the press office of the BRC informs. The event starts on 11 am at the biggest lawn in the South Park which is often used as a venue for various open-air concerts, festivals and other mass events. It was organized by the youth organization of the Bulgarian Red Cross. A museum tent of the BRC, a room with puzzles and a bio bazaar with handmade jewelry, candies and other accessories will be placed at the humanitarian village of tents, built especially for the Day of the Red Cross and Red Crescent. The World Red Cross and Red Crescent Day is an annual celebration of the principles of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement. The day is always marked on May 8. This date is the anniversary of the birth of Henry Dunant, the founder of the International Committee of the Red Cross and the laureate of the first Nobel Peace Prize.
