Over 100,000 people attended the fifth edition of the National Meeting of Sheep Breeders. The event took place between May 6 and 8 near the town of Lyaskovets (Veliko Tarnovo district). Visitors from all parts of the country and from abroad came to see exhibitions of various crafts, agricultural equipment, meat and dairy products. The National Sheep Breeders’ Meeting was accompanied with a series of traditional barbeques and presentations of authentic food recipes. The visitors also enjoyed horse competitions and exhibitions of Karakachan dogs. There were no sheep and goat exhibitions this year due to the restrictive measures adopted in line with the recent spreading of the lumpy skin disease. A round table discussion dedicated to the perspectives of that sector was held within the frameworks of the event with the participation of branch organizations from Europe and Central Asia.
