Bulgaria’s best paragliders Yasen Savov and Veselin Ovcharov are planning to beat the European record in cross country discipline. For the purpose, they have to beat the current record of 420 kilometers. Veselin is to make the first attempt in June or July and later Yasen will try to break the record at the end of August. The two athletes are planning to take off from the city of Dobrich (Northeastern Bulgaria). They intend to fly for at least 9 hours. Yasen Savov is the first paraglider from Eastern Europe who became European Champion in paragliding and placed first at the cross country discipline back in 2012. Veselin Ovcharov is the only professional acro pilot in Bulgaria and the only official athlete of Red Bull in that country.
