Bulgaria is on the last but one place in the EU chart when it comes to the use of digital technologies in the economy and by society, an index of the European Commission shows. Bulgaria is in the group of countries that show results below the EU average, the EC reports. High-speed broadband web access is available to almost 72 percent of households in this country, but in rural areas there is lack of high-speed net coverage. Just half of the households in Bulgaria actually use broadband web access. Bulgaria is also lagging behind when it comes to people's skills of using digital technologies, the EC points out.
