After meeting with Prime Minister Boyko Borissov in Sofia, the European Commissioner for Climate and Energy Miguel Arias Cañete stated that Bulgaria had the potential to build a powerful gas hub on its territory because it had a well-developed pipeline network. Such a hub will enable the use of different sources of gas, including Russian gas. The main objective is to diversify gas sources, routes and suppliers, which is why the Commission will support all efforts of the Bulgarian government to develop this hub on the territory of Bulgaria, Cañete stressed.
