Bulgaria’s Premier Boyko Borissov met with his Romanian counterpart Dacian Ciolos in Sofia. Premiers Borissov and Ciolos discussed the roles of their countries in the support of NATO’s Eastern Wing, as well as common steps towards the abolishment of the visa regime with Canada. Boyko Borissov and Dacian Ciolos also discussed topics related to the regional and trans-border cooperation and the security along the EU and Schengen’s external borders. Premier Ciolos said that Bulgaria has been doing an excellent job protecting the EU external borders as if it was already a Schengen member, which favors the EU and Romania. Premiers Borissov and Ciolos pointed out that in three months the gas interconnection between Bulgaria and Romania will be completed, which would boost gas trade in that region.
