During NATO’s Defence Ministers Meeting in Brussels, Bulgarian Defence Minister Nikolay Nenchev held a discussion with his Romanian counterpart Mihnea Motoc. They discussed issues related to the agenda of the Alliance, as well as the development of cooperation between Bulgaria and Romania. The ministers shared concerns about security in the Black Sea region and gave a high assessment to the efforts related to creating Multinational Division Southeast Headquarters as part of the measures set in the Action Plan for increasing the readiness of the Alliance. The new initiative for establishing a NATO multinational brigade in Romania was also discussed. Bulgaria has already confirmed its support for the initiative and is ready to contribute with the participation of 400 soldiers in the NATO brigade in neighboring Romania.
