UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, Zeid Ra'ad Al-Hussein, has given Bulgaria as an example of anti-immigrant sentiments in Europe and has expressed concerns over the rising number of migrants detained in Europe, including unaccompanied children, the BGNES news agency has reported. Within the framework of the 32nd session of the UN Human Rights Council, Al Hussein condemned "widespread anti-immigrant rhetoric" that "encouraged a climate of division, xenophobia" and even the activity of violent border-guard volunteers, as it is the case in Bulgaria. He added his colleagues would check the situation in the country.
