The topic regarding possible establishment of common naval fleet between Bulgaria, Romania and Turkey in the Black Sea entered the Bulgarian National Assembly after the Bulgarian Socialist Party demanded a hearing from Premier Borissov. The issue was brought up last week during the visit of Romania’s President Klaus Iohannis to Sofia. Bulgaria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Daniel Mitov has assured on Wednesday that Bulgaria has not taken any engagements related to the formation of joint naval fleet in the Black Sea. However, Premier Borissov will probably provide additional explanations on Friday. Meanwhile, an initiative committee submitted to Bulgaria’s National Assembly a draft declaration to renounce military actions between Bulgaria and the Russian Federation. The independent MP Velizar Enchev commented that according to that proposal, the land, the airspace and the territorial waters of the Republic of Bulgaria will not be used for military actions on the territory of the Russian Federation, as well as against Russian aircraft, ships or other objects. According to the draft declaration, however, Russia should also refrain from using military power against Bulgaria.
