Bulgaria has not received any official notice from Turkey for termination of readmission agreement: Minister Bachvarova

Bulgaria’s cabinet adopted a protocol on the EU-Turkey readmission agreement, inked between Sofia and Ankara on May 5 this year. So far, Bulgaria has not received an official answer from Turkey why that country refused to receive back the migrants who entered Bulgarian territory, Minister of Interior Rumiana Bachvarova announced. However, the Bulgarian cabinet will continue to act in line with the agreement in the bilateral protocol and expects from the Turkish side to decide whether and when it would start fulfilling the readmission agreement, Minister Bachvarova further said.
