Second day of NATO summit in Warsaw

During the second day of the NATO summit taking place in Warsaw, participants discussed the continuation of the operation of the Alliance in Afghanistan. NATO will be providing 1 billion U.S. dollars annually for the Afghan forces, it was reported. NATO has already announced its decision to increase the military presence in the east, approving the deployment of battalions in Poland and the Baltic republics and the creation of a multinational brigade in Romania with the participation of Bulgaria. During the meeting Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said that in October defense ministers of NATO member states are to decide over the ways in which the Alliance could strengthen its presence in the Black Sea region.
