During the 2016 IMMAF World Championships in Las Vegas competitors of the Bulgarian national MMA team won 1 gold, 2 silver and 1 bronze medal, which placed Bulgaria third in the world team rankings. Alexandra Toncheva became the first Bulgarian MMA fighter to win a world title among the amateurs. Ferdun Osmanov, who achieved 4 victories out of 5 fights, won a silver medal.
