The European Commission has announced that Bulgaria will receive almost 160 million euro for two energy projects under the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF).
29.8 million euro will be provided for a new 400 KW electricity line between Dobroudja and Bourgas. The country will receive another 130 million euro for extending the gas storage facility in Chiren. The aim of the CEF is to enhance the EU’s energy security and independence from outside energy suppliers.
