Bulgaria and USA discuss cooperation against human trafficking

Bulgaria’s Minister of Interior Rumiana Bachvarova discussed at the US Department of State opportunities for cooperation between Bulgaria and the USA in the fight against human trafficking. The Ambassador-at- Large of the Office to Monitor and Combat Trafficking in Persons Susan Copedge assessed positively the legislative changes in Bulgaria aimed at protecting the victims of human trafficking in their capacity of witnesses. Minister Rumiana Bachvarova is to meet next with the Acting Coordinator for Counterterrorism in the Bureau of Counterterrorism at the US Department of State Justin Siberrell and with the head of the Drug Enforcement Administration Chuck Rosenberg.
