The Director of the National Historical Museum Professor Bozhidar Dimitrov has received a letter from His Excellency Anselmo Pecorari, the apostolic nuncio to Bulgaria. According to the letter, the Holy Pope Francis has donated the amount of EUR 5,000 for the restoration of the Great Basilica in Bulgaria’s old capital Pliska. The donation is made on occasion of the 1,150th anniversary since the first relations between the Roman Catholic Church and the Bulgarian Kingdom, the letter further reads.
