Currently Bulgaria has no reason to alter its general policy line on Turkey, Bulgaria’s Deputy Premier and Minister of Interior Rumiana Bachvarova said. We have been analyzing a series of risks. We are keeping close contact with our partners from Brussels and Ankara and are following the situation constantly. On occasion of Turkey’s message to the EU that the agreement on readmission of migrants would be cancelled if the European Union does not introduce a visa-free regime for Turkish citizens, Minister Bachvarova pointed out that it was regarded as part of a dialogue and was connected with a series of other arguments. Deputy Premier Bachvarova also pointed out that the migrant smuggling channels have become more active in the past few days. A special unit whose task will be to intercept those channels will be established within several days, Rumiana Bachvarova further said.
