Bulgarian and Greek police begin joint border inspections

Bulgarian and Greek road traffic control teams are launching joint inspections in the region of Makaza border checkpoint. Following set time schedules Bulgarian police officers are joining inspections in Greece, while the regional interior ministry directorate patrols in Kurdjali will be joined by inspectors from Greece. The inspections will be for compliance with traffic regulations, roadworthiness of vehicles, cigarette smuggling and human trafficking. The inspections will continue until the end of October in the region of the other border checkpoints along the Bulgarian-Greek border.
