EC co-finances construction of new electric grid in Bulgaria with nearly EUR 30 million

The European Commission will co-finance the construction of a new 140 kilometer electric transmisson network between Dobrudzha region (Northeastern Bulgaria) and the city of Burgas (Southeast Bulgaria) with EUR 29.9 million. The EU Commissioner for Climate and Energy Miguel Arias Canete commented that the new facility would boost the opportunities for electricity exchange and would allow the transfer of clean energy from Southeast Europe, which complies with the strategy of the European Energy Union aimed at boosting security and connectivity on the European markets.
