Over 1,000 small Bulgarian villages without grocery stores

Over 1,000 Bulgarian mountain villages are without grocery stores, where people can buy bread and other essentials. Thus, over 83,000 Bulgarians do not have access to food products. Recently, Bulgaria’s cabinet granted over EUR 350,000 to the Bulgarian municipalities to cover part of the transport expenses made on food supplies. Meanwhile, the number of depopulated Bulgarian villages has been increasing.
