Gabriela Petrova fails to clear Rio triple jump qualifications

Gabriela Petrova has remained outside the final in the triple jump held on the first day of the Olympic track-and-field tournament in Rio de Janeiro. She jumped 13.92 m in her third jump, and this was the best from her today. Petrova finished 11th in Group B of the qualifications and is 22nd in the final rankings. The winner is the silver medalist from London 2012 Caterine Ibarguen (Colombia) with 14.52 m, followed by Paraskevi Papachristou (Greece) with 14.43 m and Olga Rypakova (Kazakhstan) with 14.39 m.
