Bulgarian Ruzhdi Ruzhdi snatches gold in Paralympics shot put event

Ruzhdi Ruzhdi has won a gold medal for Bulgaria at the Rio de Janeiro Paralympics, in the shot put event, Group F54/F55. His title’s worth is even greater as it was won with a world record of 12.33 m. The Bulgarian athlete achieved this result with his first attempt and he passed the 12-m mark three times more – a unique performance from among all finalists. Ruzhdi is followed by Hamid Amiri of Iran and Lech Stoltman of Poland. Ruzhdi also joined the discus throw and ranked 6th.
