Bulgaria to receive EU financing to deal with migrant crisis within several weeks

Photo: Capital

Bulgaria is to receive within few weeks EUR 106 million to deal with the migrant crisis. The money was recently negotiated with the European Commission. According to the usual procedure, the financing goes through the European Council first, but the money allotted to Bulgaria will go directly to that country, because it is under EU funds for urgent needs, the EU specifies. Only 20% of this money will be used for construction of new asylums and the rest will be used for border protection.
