The International Monetary Fund has raised its forecast for Bulgaria’s economic growth up to 3 percent this year and to 2.8 percent next year. This is said in its report for the global economic outlook. In April IMF expected Bulgaria’s GDP to grow by 2.3 percentboth in 2016 and 2017. The fund now predicts that Bulgaria will see deflation of 1.6 percent in consumer prices this year while its April forecast was at just 0.2 percent. The institution has predicted an acceleration of inflation to 0.6 percent next year. The forecast for the level of 2016 unemployment in the country has been reduced to 8.2 percent down from 8.6 percent as forecast in April. IMF expects that in 2017 unemployment will be down to 7.1 percent.
