Bulgarian Minister of Agriculture and Food, Desislava Taneva and her Russian counterpart Alexander Tkachov have discussed the possibility of Bulgarian businesses that are interested in exporting to Russia to undergo prior approval. Minister Taneva is on an official visit to Russia on the occasion of the International Agro-industrial exhibition "Golden Autumn 2016" held in Moscow. "It is very important that Bulgarian enterprises have the necessary certificates for export of goods to Russia," Minister Taneva said and explained that in this way they would have no obstacles to start exporting after the fall of the Russian embargo. She pointed out that 27 companies had already shown interest for export.

Minister Tkachov vowed that approval procedures could start in 2017 when it is expected that Russian inspectors would visit the Bulgarian Agency for Food Safety and the factpories that plan to export to Russia.
