Bulgaria considering privatization of Belene NPP project

The Bulgarian state will be seeking for options for completing the "Belene" Nuclear Power Plant Project through its privatization, Deputy Prime Minister Tomislav Donchev has announced. According to him, the Russian side has already approved the plans.

"Such plans cannot happen without the agreement of the equipment producers. The key now is finding a reliable investor," Minister Donchev added.

In June this country was sentenced to pay 620 million euros for previously ordered Russian equipment for frozen "Belene" NPP. For each day of delay interests add 167 thousand euro to Bulgaria’s debts.
