“Bulgaria is ready to give its support to a Dublin reform to create a more just mechanism that would not place a burden on the asylum systems in the forefront countries. It must take into account the geographic location and economic position of the member countries,” said Interior Minister Rumyana Bachvarova, addressing the Justice and Home Affairs Council in Luxembourg where it is discussing the reform of the Common European Asylum System. She was adamant that the regulation must correspond to the principles of proportionality, justice and equality in the fulfillment of commitments, as well as to the solidarity clauses of the EU treaties.
