The first mandatory elections will be held in Bulgaria in several days. However, it is still unclear how voters will be excused, in case they do not go to the polling stations, the Spokesperson for the Central Election Commission Aleksandar Andreev said. According to the election code, people who do not exercise their voting rights on two consecutive elections of the same type, would be erased from the electoral lists, Sega daily informs on Tuesday, November 1. Bulgaria imported Polish eggs contaminated with salmonella enteritidis, the Polish food safety authorities confirmed. The Polish authorities announced that 9 out of 12 samples proved the existence of that dangerous bacterium. The Bulgarian Food Safety Agency has already withdrawn those eggs from the commercial network.

US giant American International Group is to leave Bulgaria’s insurance business. The step is part of the company’s decision to exit small markets. Canadian Fairfax Financial Holdings will buy the shares of AIG, Capital daily informs.
