Canada is to lift all visa requirements for Bulgarian and Romanian nationals on December 1, 2017, Canada’s Minister of Immigration John McCallum announced. Canada will start to abolish the visa-regime partially on May 1, 2017 and people who received temporary visa in the past 10 years or the ones with non-immigrant visa for the USA will be able to travel to Canada with travel permit instead of visa. Canada kept its right to reintroduce the visa regime, if illegal immigration from those two European countries intensifies, Minister McCallum pointed out.
