Street protest against accommodation of refugees to be held in Yambol

Citizens of Bulgaria’s Yambol district are to launch on Saturday evening a street protest against possible accommodation of refugees. The tension escalated several weeks ago, but protests were temporarily delayed due to the Presidential elections in Bulgaria. Earlier, a large-scale protest was held in the village of Boyanovo. The protest will be held between 6 and 9 pm. The torch procession will cross the central streets of Yambol. The public discontent has not eased, although the authorities assured that the migrant center in the village of Boyanovo will be of a closed-type.
