Born in the 20th Century – that is the name of the Atlas band’s latest album that has been released after a year’s work. It will be promoted via a concert, held at the National Palace of Culture. Last year the band marked three decades of artistic life. Established back in 1985, Atlas had its serious participation in the new wave era, born with the Tangra, Klas, Nova Generaciya, Revu bands, alongside many others. Lots of musicians have played with Atlas over these years. The Kukla /Doll/ song was one of their greatest hits, released in 1992 with the album of the same name.

Petar Pisarski has been the band’s leader since the very beginning. He has a strong social stance not only in the songs he has written and composed. Pepi is the core and guardian of the band’s ideas and morality, preserved over all these years.

Here is what dreamer Pisarski says on the concert where the band’s album will be presented:

“This album is a promise kept. The occasion – the band’s 30th anniversary, celebrated last year when we promised to release a new album. It is now a fact and on November 25 we will present it at Sofia Live Club with a big concert. The “Born in the 20th Century” song is very special for us, because it was a century full of surprises and lots of romantics – things that have started to disappear now, drowned by technologies. Our colleagues from the Sprint and Horizont bands also participate in the song, it is a joint rendition. They will be there as well and we will play it live. Georgi Arsov has been our vocal for a year and a half. Ivan Nestorov plays the bass, Asen Dragnev – the keyboard and Dragomir Ganchev is the drummer. This band of five works constantly, we always play live music and create our pieces together. This is something that I missed over the years. We won’t play all the songs of the album at that concert, as the audience is reluctant to listen to new songs only. We will turn to our old hits as well and the show will be full.”

More from Petar Pisarski on the Evridika song and the emotion, hidden in songs:

“The video of Evridika is ready. Of course, it is about the legend of Orpheus and his Eurydice. I would like to express my gratitude to the team – director Valeri Krisenko and producer Hristo Hristov. These are the only lyrics that are not written by members of the band. Valeria Dimitrova plays Eurydice in the video which is very tender and different. Our vocalist Georgi Arsov is 22 years old – he was born 9 years after the band’s establishment. He adds great energy to it all and being a professional actor he manages to act the lyrics, to live through them and to pass the emotion on to the audience, which is true art. Lots of Bulgarian singers have that problem – they are great vocalists, but when the red lamp is on at the studio they panic and the stress prevents them from expressing the emotion. And it is the essential thing. I would like to see plenty of smiles on the faces of the Bulgarians in the future,” Petar Pisarski says in conclusion with a smile.
