EC initiates infringement procedure against Bulgaria over public procurement orders

Bulgaria’s authorities have not applied the new EU legislation in the public procurement orders and concessions fields on time, the European Commission announced. That is why the EC initiated an infringement procedure against that country. The EC insists that Bulgaria and 14 other member states should fully apply in their national legislations at least one of the three new directives on public procurement orders and concessions. Brussels has warned Sofia that it would initiate legal proceedings against Bulgaria, if it fails to guarantee within two months that it would adhere to the new rules regarding the fight against cybercrime.
