Yet another concert from the festive program of Vassil Petrov a.k.a. “the Bulgarian Frank Sinatra”, is scheduled for December 15. In it the famous singer will team up with the Sofia Symphonics with conductor Ljubka Biagioni. The event will be held in Hall 3 of the National Palace of Culture in Sofia and is part of the New Year Festival. A few days ago the musicians were back from Germany where they presented the same program accentuating Christmas classical music.
The other Christmas project of Vassil Petrov is entitled Swing Christmas and will be presented to audiences in Varna, Ruse, Kyustendil and Plovdiv. Swing Christmas is a show that mixes classical ballet, Christmas music with new arrangements in swing, jazz, blues, waltz, enveloped in breathtaking snowy visuals and multimedia effects in the company of Stanislav Abadzhiev (piano), Dimitar Sirakov (double bass) and Nikola Goryalov (percussions). Vassil Petrov says more about the snowy nights full of beautiful music that he plans to give to audiences as a Christmas gift:
“This is not the first time I have been working with conductor Ljubka Biagioni. We have previously teamed up for major concerts in Germany, in Kulmbach, and also in Bulgaria, at the Roman Theater in Plovdiv and at Bulgaria Hall in Sofia. For the concert at the National Palace of Culture there will be about ninety musicians on stage. The sound will be really grand, and a wonderful Christmas atmosphere will be created to inspire the performers. The repertoire features Christmas classics by Handel, Mendelssohn, Schubert, as well as American Christmas music. The other project, Swing Christmas, presents the chamber formation Stanislav Abadzhiev Trio and Vaya Dance Studio ballet company. We are going to present it at a mini tour in Varna, Ruse, Kyustendil and Plovdiv starting on 19 December till 25 December, Nativity of Christ. We also have a new Christmas song with music composed by me and lyrics by Archimandrite Seraphim with the participation of the Mickey Mouse children’s vocal group. We have also made a video which has already been in circulation.”
