Almost 900,000 Bulgarian children are studying foreign languages

A total of 882,188 1st to 12th grade students in Bulgaria are studying foreign languages, the Ministry of Education and Science says. Choice number one is English with around 605,000 children studying it, followed by Russian and German. 

The top three are followed by the Romance languages – French, Spanish and Italian. There are different schools in the country where close to 2,000 students are learning Japanese and Chinese.
