Bird flu outbreaks in Bulgaria exceed 26, 100,000 birds get culled

The outbreaks of avian influenza found in Bulgaria are now 26 in nine regions of the country including Vidin, Vratza, Kardzhali, Ploviv and Sofia province. Given the latest outbreaks, the total of 116 308 fowl will be culled, the National center for control and elimination of bird flu has reported after a meeting. With permission from the Ministry of Justice, persons serving prison sentences will be included in the efforts to curb avian influenza. Interior Ministry staff cooperateс for observing bans and measures aimed to control the spread of the disease including restrictions for movement of fowl and providing more information to the population.
