On Monday the consumption of electricity in Bulgaria has exceeded 7,700 megawatts in the peak hours and hit a twenty-year high. Bulgaria requested some assistance from neighboring Romania due to the high electricity consumption, but that country refused to redirect some of its electricity output due to the extremely low temperatures and high consumption there.
