Black Sea off Burgas freezes

For the first time in 50 years the Black Sea off the City of Burgas has frozen, the Burgas Municipality has said. The rare phenomenon is most clearly seen at the harbor of Sarafovo and near the Marine Station. The ice cover has been expanding due to freezing temperatures. The Anastasia ship used to transport tourists to St. Anastasia Island in the summer has been arrested by cold and ice and looks like an ice sculpture. During 20 c. the Black Sea off Burgas froze on three occasions, the Municipality of Burgas has recalled.
