Under an order of Energy Minister Temenuzhka Petkova, starting at 1 AM today Bulgaria has suspended electricity exports. The measure has been prompted by harsh winter conditions causing an imbalance between generation and consumption of electric energy. Exports will resume after the situation in the country returns to normal. The Ministry of Energy has vowed that power plants and the electricity supply system are in good shape and electricity supply to citizens is guaranteed.
